The first frost is frightening until I find the gloves that live in the car and remember how I've survived winters before.
Joy defeats endurance when fog hovering the waters reminds me of the season's delights.

Frost is fine. A bit of snow is too. It's the 4 feet of the stuff for months on end that I eschew. I like my snow to come for 3-4 days max in the depths of winter and then go the hell away.

yea, I'd like that better myself, but there are enough redeeming qualities of this area that I put up with 40 consecutive days below freezing and 4 greenless months.
